The Leeways Packaging team is a great example of a real family business success story. Established for more than 40 years, Leeways is now a well-known name within the thermoformed packaging industry and has seen in the start of 2015 with an increased level of organic growth.
In the past year, the introduction of a new product development and design studio has enabled the company to provide in-house tooling and samples. This has proved a great success and has rapidly grown. A second large bed CNC machine became fully operational in November, meaning Leeways has the ability to design sample moulds and patterns at a new and enhanced level.
Further investment in manufacturing sees an additional Illig RDK 80 displaying in-line padding and punching facilities along with an additional GN 36×25. With installation complete before Christmas, it is now fully operational, giving Leeways an increased capacity to provide up to 750 million trays per year.
Still an independent, British, family-owned company, Leeways offers thermoformed packaging solutions to both food and non-food market sectors. The company prides itself on service, competitiveness and manufacturing principles. Its investment made in putting together one of the most experienced teams in the thermoforming industry has resulted in Leeways going from strength to strength.
