Cake brand Mr Kipling created a 3ft tall ‘bou-cake’ which weighed in at 20kg to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year.
The intricate hand-tied cake and flower bouquet was made from 80 long-stemmed Aqua and Celeb pink roses along with some of the nation’s most-loved cakes – ‘Batting my lashes at you’ Mini Battenburgs, ‘Love you cherry much’ Cherry Bakewells and ‘Fancy a kiss fondest fancies’. It took two people more than 12 hours to make the super-sized bouquet which would have had a projected shelf price of £400.
