Horlicks marks 150th anniversary with malty tablet relaunch

Nostalgia alert: in celebration of its 150th year, iconic hot beverage brand Horlicks has announced the long-awaited return of the legendary Horlicks Tablets.

Representing a notable development for the brand, the much-loved, chewable tablets have been brought back in response to unprecedented demand from consumers across the nation.

The sweets maintain the delicious, malty flavour and texture of the original tablets, introducing another way to enjoy a ‘Horlicks moment’ – and just in time for the festive season too.

Michelle Younger, Marketing Director at Aimia Foods, said: “The return of Horlicks Tablets is a significant launch for the brand, extending once again beyond the core category of hot, milky drinks to bring back a product that has been in overwhelming demand ever since it was discontinued some time ago.”

Michelle added: “Providing shoppers with more ways to take a moment with Horlicks, the Tablets are set to be a firm favourite with existing Horlicks fans, as well as drawing in new consumers.”

Horlicks Tablets will be available in tins of 20 this December in B&M stores (RRP £1.75 per tin).

Horlicks draws on its long-standing history of nourishing soldiers in world wars, fortifying athletes in the Olympics and supporting explorers across poles with the relaunch of its tasty tablets, which return just in time to commemorate the major anniversary for the malted drink brand.

A warming and delicious hug in a mug, the uniquely creamy and delicious taste of Horlicks’ is developed through a traditional process made with wheat and barley. Each mug of Horlicks is bursting with goodness and contains 14 key vitamins and minerals. It’s high in Calcium, Zinc, Vitamin C, Vitamin D & Vitamin B12.

The Horlicks range of malted drinks includes Horlicks Original, Horlicks Instant, Horlicks Chocolate, and Horlicks Vegan. The brand also has a range of Horlicks Healthy nourishing shakes, blending protein and health-boosting vitamins, and most recently launched a sweet trio of Horlicks Pudding Flavours.
