Contract Pack & Fulfilment – a key part of Packaging Innovations 2022

This year sees the Contract Pack & Fulfilment (CP&F) show feature as an integral part of the UK’s leading packaging event – Packaging Innovations & Empac – demonstrating outsourcing’s crucial role to today’s brand owners, retailers and manufacturers.

Held at the NEC, Birmingham on 25th & 26th May, the two-day event showcases the whole packaging supply chain under one roof, through dedicated show zones and gives visitors a unique opportunity to see, touch and experience the packaging solutions of tomorrow. It is an essential part of the exhibition calendar and, given the recent global challenges, provides the perfect opportunity for people to meet face-to-face.

An end-to-end service

Packaging Innovations is not just about packaging materials, it is about how the products get into the packaging in the first place. The requirement by retailers, brands and new entrepreneurs for contract manufacturing, filling, contract packing and white label services has never been higher. In addition, D2C and eCommerce channels have seen stratospheric growth, further driving demand for outsourced services.

In 2019, fulfilment became an integral part of the show under the refreshed title of Contract Pack & Fulfilment in recognition that brand owners are looking more and more to outsource their operations, including warehousing, pick & pack, order fulfilment and distribution services – provision of a full end-to-end service. This trend was also reflected by the BCMPA itself, which updated its identity to become the ‘Association for Contract Manufacturing, Packing, Fulfilment & Logistics’ and has seen membership grow to now representing 200 individual businesses across the supply chain.

Outsourcing delivering across market sectors

The centrepiece of the Contract Pack & Fulfilment show is the BCMPA hospitality lounge. Here the show plays host to up to 20 accredited BCMPA members offering brand owners and manufacturers the opportunity to meet potential outsourcing partners for their contract manufacturing, packing, fulfilment and logistics projects.

BCMPA members represent a host of industrial markets and those exhibiting at CP&F will be able to discuss how outsourcing supports Food, Nutraceuticals, Personal Care, Household Chemicals, General Co-Packing and Gift Packing needs.

Online & eCommerce order fulfilment

In particular, the exponential growth in the number of businesses trading as resellers for online platforms has further increased demand for resilient and dependable third-party outsourcing suppliers – an area that BCMPA members have been able to embrace with speed and agility.

In recognition of this, the BCMPA will be hosting a panel session at the show, titled ‘The value of outsourcing your manufacturing, packing and fulfilment operations,’ on the Empack Technology Stage at 11 am on the first day. Here Neil Daniels from Prolog, Laura Palmer from PHL Fulfilment and Glenn Hayes from Worldwide Logistics will talk with the BCMPA on this important topic and provide guidance for those looking at outsourcing delivering for their business.

Clearly outsourcing is a part of so many supply chains and manufacturing operations in 2022. Visitors to the show will be able to discover and explore the significant advantages that come from collaborating with expert outsourcing partners and have the opportunity to meet many of the 200-strong community of BCMPA members. Contract Pack & Fulfilment is a must-visit section of the show.
