Asda has unveiled a first ever fixed-price Meal Deal as part of its Food to Go range, positioning itself with the lowest-priced, non-membership offer on the UK high street.
The £3.74 deal replaces the retailer’s existing 3-for-2 promotion and gives shoppers a Main, Snack and Drink for a single price – with no loyalty cards or app required to unlock the savings. It is available nationwide, including across all 478 Asda Express stores, enabling customers to take advantage of the offer on-the-go. According to Asda, the new pricing structure can deliver savings of up to 50% compared with buying the items individually.
The Meal Deal spans the full Food to Go fixture with 132 mains, 336 snacks and 222 drinks eligible under the promotion. Options range from own-label staples such as an Asda Chicken & Bacon Sandwich and Apple Slices with Toffee Dip, through to branded favourites like Doritos Tangy Cheese Grab Bag and Coca-Cola Zero.

Commenting on the launch, Amy Wotherspoon, Asda’a Buyer of Food to Go, said: “At Asda, we believe great value should be available to everyone. That’s why we’re launching the new £3.74 Meal Deal that is completely open to all customers – with no app or membership required, and a big range of products to choose from so there’s something for everyone.”
Asda is forecasting strong uptake, predicting over 700,000 Meal Deals sold in the first week alone. The retailer’s current best-selling main – the Asda Cheese & Onion Sandwich, priced at £1.42 – already shifts more than 50,000 units per week. It also points out that the new Meal Deal undercuts Tesco’s equivalent by around 12%, while ensuring that all items in the promotion are fully HFSS compliant ahead of incoming legislation governing multi-buy deals.
