Two-day event full of inspiration

Those working in the FMCG industry will have masses to see at Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London, which returns to the Business Design Centre, London on September 30th and October 1st. The two-day event will enable buyers to discover new ways to improve the appearance of their products, reduce environmental impact or simply find the next iconic packaging.

The Packaging Innovations show attracts major brands such as Coca-Cola, Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Mars year on year.

For visitors attending the 2014 show, there’s plenty of inspiration in store with more than 175 companies signed up to exhibit and plenty of show floor entertainment in the form of The Drinks Symposium, Lions’ Lair, The Beauty Symposium and the BIG Packaging Debate.

Leo Luxe will showcase its Premier Rigid Box, which is case-wrapped on the outside, with a heat sealed poly-bag lining on the inside. Its ingenious Eclipse and Imperial ranges will also be on show. These allow sounds and lights to be incorporated into the pack and triggered when touched or opened.

Tesa will display its Lift & Reseal reclosure tape, which provides an effective reseal solution for produce with a short shelf life. The tape dispensers are provided free and are guaranteed to not disrupt packaging line speed, providing an easy way of repeatedly resealing packs for freshness and storage.

Whilst first time exhibitor Airpack Systems is set to wow the beverage industry with its new innovative 100 per cent recyclable inflatable packaging. Firstan will exhibit its range of food packaging solutions from frozen food cartons and sleeves through to confectionery and shelf-ready packaging.

Industry expert, Parkside Flexibles, launches Rockpockets, a revolutionary protective packaging concept that offers an extremely lightweight pack for the transport of breakable items in a compact format, by using a vacuum process.

Innovia Films will be exhibiting its new compostable NatureFlex™ 55 HK1, a hermetically-sealing film, made from renewable raw materials, which provides an effective barrier against mineral oil residues. Dempson, will exhibit its Dempson Bag range and its innovative Box Bag range, suitable for ‘Food to Go’ retailing, catering supplies retailers and wholesalers and food processors.

For chocoholics, James Cropper will display its award winning bio recycling solution, cocoa paper. An innovation that could save the skins of many of the 3.5 million tonnes of cocoa beans produced each year, by turning them into wrapping.

The Luxury Packaging Conference, sponsored by Raison Pure NYC, will debut at the London show, boasting senior representatives from Karl Lagerfeld, Diageo, Harrods, Procter & Gamble (Prestige Brands) and Hotel Chocolat. They will explore the vital role packaging has to play in positioning and promoting luxury and prestige brands.

Luxury Packaging and Packaging Innovations will also feature a full learnShop programme, spanning every aspect of packaging by world class industry experts, such as Marks and Spencer, Kimberly-Clarke, Tesco, Kingfisher Group and Taylors of Harrogate.
