National Flexible is offering its customers the chance to attend print and film workshops for free. Around 300 delegates have benefited from the workshops over the past two years, which are based on years of practical experience of films and print in the food packing industry, and consider many of the most common problems encountered in the selection and use of flexible packaging. The workshops are interactive with eight to 10 delegates attending. There is a charge of £180 per person for other delegates to cover food and accommodation. Workshop content includes: Film selection and properties; laminations and co-extrusions types and applications; secondary processes – thermoformed, retort, freezing, autoclave; print pre-pass and origination; printing methods and machinery; packaging machinery types and uses; graphic and pack design; packaging and food waste reductions. Topics covered include new films available for packaging, the most suitable print and why to choose co-extrusion.
